Kwe The New Afrobeats Sensation From GH To The World

One thing that Ghana is not short of is talent precisely musical talents. Comb through the length and breadth of this blessed country mother Ghana and in every corner you will discover budding talents just like diamond in the crust of the earth that needs to be discovered.

The reality is this, whether born in Ghana or outside Ghana once the blood of this great country flows through you a talent will surely be discovered in you. One might pause and ask, Quayson the writer why all this great remark about the Ghanaian talent?

Well dear readers permit me to introduce a wonder, a sensation and an amazement to the musical talent of this great country in the person of Kwe, a United States born Afrobeats Musician who has recently rocked our airwaves with mind blowing collections of songs that is just soothing to the ear and gives dance lovers a run for their money.

Kwe is carving a niche for himself in the music scene of late. His real name is Kwesi Kumi Egyir, aka KWE. His genre of music is Afrobeats and is based precisely in New York City, USA.

He came to Ghana recently upon the demise of his late father to perform his funeral rites since his childhood days when he was last here. After the burial his cousin who had heard he was a rapper in USA invited him to a studio where he met one TSUTSU (a Ghanaian recording artiste) and after some few hours they did a song together called "Pele". The song was huge and received massive airplay. People were just loving it all over the place and wanted to know the voice behind the song in the person of KWE.

This great feedback from "Pele" song boosted his morale to start working on his EP called "Ghana boy". The Ghana Boy EP is a mesh of afro-sounds with Hip-hop and R&B flows. Kwe’s talent for juggling complex flows over afro drums is something Ghana has rarely seen, reminiscent of Sarkodie and Manifest.

The Ghana Boy EP is more than just a fusion of Afro and Hip-Hop sounds. It is also deep look into the life of Kwesi Egyir, chronicling his struggles with love, relishing in his lavish lifestyle, and explaining his need to bring the people around him up with him.

In his own words about the "Ghana boy" EP he said, “I just want to do it for all the Ghana Boys out there. Whether you’re in America, Europe, Ghana, even Australia, I want to show the world Ghana is a huge contributor to Afrobeats and music in general.”

The Ghana Boy is showing no signs of slowing down after doing a run of radio shows and interviews. Kwe even recently released a song with Ghana’s own King Jerry. Their song “Link Up” is out now on all streaming platforms. Be on the lookout for more from the talented Ghana Boy.

From us at Quayson the writer, all we can say is from all indications Kwe is here to stay and we all need to support his work by streaming his music and partaking in his craft. One thing Kwe loves is his fans and he has promised never to let them down. In all his songs his first consideration goes to all his fans and will appreciate all the feedbacks and criticisms to make him a near perfect artiste.

To those he has come to meet in the industry, he is also on his way to the top and willing to work with any artiste that shows his music love and support. He believes the sky is too big for the birds to crash so he knows that he and all other GH artiste can further fly the flag of Ghana very high. He comes to the scene with a new level of energy, vibe, charisma, corporation and a born to win spirit.

Currently Kwe is being managed by his own cousin who is also based in the UK in the person of God's Son Eddie. These two impeccable duo have a very strong bond and relationship that dates back since their childhood days and working together as a team, with the family spirit, love, dedication, mutual respect and the crave for success they are promising the world nothing but the best of the best when it comes to music.

The above picture shows Kwe and his manager cousin God's Son Eddie in the studios of Onua FM on his trip to Ghana. God's Son Eddie is on the left with Kwe on the right.

Kwe intends through his music to inspire the youth to attain to greater heights in life as they can become whatever they want to be wherever they are. He encouraged the youth to pursue their love and passion. He admonishes them to be creative and always see the sky as the limit.

Kwame Egyir says when you see him on the block or hear his music play on the airwaves just call him the name Kwe and let his rhythm rock your world. He promises his fans to come out with lots of songs and exciting music videos so kindly watch out for him.
