Appiatse Bogoso : Give Us Tents, We Miss Sex With Our Partners
The year 2022 is a year that the people of Appiatse-Bogoso will never forget in their entire life. Especially the date the fire disaster occured in their town they will mark with a red ink on their calendar as a memorial forever to be told generations to come.
The year 2022 greeted them with the most horrific disaster of an explosion which claimed 17 lives, injured 59 and burnt down 500 houses.
According to reports, this incident occured when a truck full of explosives collided with a motorbike which has totally burnt down the whole town like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. No single house in the community was spared except those in the far outskirts of the town.
The motor rider who is alive and well, has come out to say he didn't cause the explosion because he was not even at the scene of the accident. Rather prior to the explosion, he himself was involved in an accident with a different car and had collapsed and was taken to hospital so how could he possibly be the cause? During the TV interview you can see that no bone of his was broken except some few bruises on his hand.
From all indications it was not the said vehicle with the explosives he collided with but another but I am sure way after he was carried to the hospital, the vehicle with explosive drove probably into the parked accident bike on the side of the road. This is how I am deducing the whole incident occured.
I somewhat tend to believe his story because if it was caused by him, he should not be alive to be interviewed. This means that the explosion was caused by something else.
Ghanaians, civil societies, organisations, churches, businesses, State institutions, individuals have not disappointed at all as they have come out to help the people of Appiatese to build back their communities destroyed.
Notable names are the CEO of Ghana Gas donating Ghs2 million, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama donating 5,000 cement bags and cash amounts to support the victims. My own church Resurrection Power and New Generation Church also donated some relief items.
Former Governor of BoG, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has also donated some items and money. State Housing Corporation is set to rebuild the whole community etc. The Vice President has also visited them and made some donations, given them some encouragements and has assured them of government support in this tragedy.
What has come out as both a comic relief and a serious matter in this whole disaster is some affected victims crying out to be giving private tents so they can have sexual intercourse with their partners.
According to them they miss sex and are pleading with government and civil soceity to give them some tents for their privacy with their partners as most of them are housed in the open with alot of people and they cannot have sex even if they want to.
The surprising part is that, it is the women that are rather calling for sex because as for the men, the extent of damage alone psychological will not even put them in the mood for sex.
When a man loses his house, investment and properties, you don't expect such a person to be thinking of sex at this time. Women tend to take such tragedies lightly so can easily develop the urge for sex but not us men except ofcourse a man who really doesn't care about this damage.
However this call goes to cement the fact that they are only humans and sex is also part of life so they are entitled to it. Does it mean that if it will take a year for the reconstruction to be complete they must be sex starved? No, I don't think so. It's their natural right to sex and must therefore be provided tents.
Already Ghana red Cross has made some tent donations but we also use this opportunity to call on well wishing Ghanaians and civil societies to supplement the efforts of Ghana Red Cross in providing them with more relief items especially tents so they can have the sex they want to (very funny right? Hmm!).
I am sure the psychological effect is that it will help them to distress and manage the situation better.
We wish the people of Appiatese our deepest condolences especially to the families of the dead, speedy recovery to the injured and to assure them that our hearts and prayers are with them in this tragedy.
