It Is Finished : By Emmanuel Quayson
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Jesus Christ the son of the living God was sent to the earth for a purpose which purpose was to die to save you and I from our sins. The ministry of Jesus only took 3 years but the impact can be felt today in the Christiandom. It is not how long you have served God but the impact you have made in his kingdom that is what matters.
The reason for Jesus coming to this earth is to die so you might have life and have it more abundantly. This is why death is not your portion now as a child of God. God didn't also bring you here to come and die that is why he sent his son to come and do that on your behalf. Therefore every death situation you find yourself in today, I command you to come back to life in Jesus name.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
Jesus was the final sacrifice that God gave to end all the sacrifices by the children of Israel of the sheep, goats, bullocks, doves etc which were offered yearly for the remission of sins according the Mosaic law. But it was not possible that the blood of sheeps and goats should give salvation that is why God had to send his own son in sinful flesh to come and die to save us from our sins.
When Jesus died on the cross he said it was finished. It was finished for what? When Jesus said it was finished it means you did not have to find your own ways and means to get to heaven and that he has come as the way, the truth and the life to lead us all to heaven.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
When Jesus said it was finished, he means, it is finished for all the evil and sin in your life that in time past had dominion over you.
When Jesus said it is finished it means that he has taken the keys to the kingdom of God and handed it over to believers that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever we loose here will be loosed in heaven.
Mathew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
As a Christian you must understand that kingdom keys are available to you to possess if you will allow yourself for God to work through you. Jesus has already defeated Satan and took the keys to God's kingdom which Adam gave to the devil in the garden of Eden and handed it over back to us believers so the devil and the world have no power of us.
It is finished because as a Christian you have conquered the world and all that is in it. God has given you power over the world.
1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Areas in our lives that Jesus has won victory for us on the cross :
It is finished for sicknesses and diseases
It is finished for shame and disgrace
It is finished for begging and borrowing
It is finished for sorrows and regrets
It is finished with pain and bitterness
It is finished for poverty and lack
It is finished for principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places.
It is finished for disappointment and pain
It is finished for rejection and undermining
It is finished for confusion and lack of focus
It is finished for death and spiritual imprisonment
It is finished for envy and jealousy
It is finished for enemity and hatred
It is finished for barrenness and unfruitfulness
It is finished for debts and setback
It is finished for retrogression and failure
It is finished for delay and denial
It is finished for loneliness
It is finished for ignorance
Everything negative that you can think about, Jesus is telling you that it is finished for that thing and now the gates of heaven has been opened for all and that receiving him will guarantee a place for you in heaven.
If Jesus has resurrected and seated at the right hand side of God today then you are also elevated and promoted with him today and all things will begin to work in your favour. Jesus came to restore your list hope and faith and to give you a promise of everlasting life.
Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
When Jesus says it is finished on the cross, he also means that now he has led captivity captive on the cross so you don't have to be in captivity anymore. Any captivity situation in your life, I command those chains to break off you right now in Jesus name.
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
It is finished also means that now he has freely given gifts to believers, those who will pray and earnestly seek for the gift of God will now receive it whole heatedly.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
What you need to do right now to benefit from the death and ressurrection of Jesus Christ is for you to be born again and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour and turn from your evil ways to accept him and you will be saved to his kingdom and you will have place for your souls on the judgement day.
John 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
By this scripture, Jesus was referring to the temple of his body. Jesus before his death told the disciples that he will be delivered to sinners who will kill him but on the third day he will resurrect which he did with many people bearing witness of him which has been recorded in the Bible for us all to read. If you must be physically present to believe all that you read in the Bible then don't believe anything in the world because you cannot be everywhere when all things are happening that is why there were witnesses and more so we have been promised of the holy spirit that will also come and bear witness of Christ.
It is true also that Jesus resurrected and when he did the Bible says he was seen of his disciples for which they bear witness if him. The first person to see Jesus was Mary Magdalene at the tomb. She was the one that seven demons came out from. It doesn't matter your previous state, God loves you and if you repent, he will reveal himself to you in so many unimaginable ways. A woman who had the history of demon possession was the first person that ever had the privilege of seeing Jesus when he resurrected. He was also seen of the Apostles later when they were gathered in the room when Thomas was absent and later showed himself to them when Thomas was present.
