Never exalt any man above God

Let's becareful how we exalt people above God for God is a jealous God. Some people have moved the hands of God to destroy others because they idolised them. Herod did not ask the people to call him God but it was the people themselves that said, "this is the voice of God" when Herod gave a speech to them. What happened next? The Bible says the angel of the Lord struck him on his seat and immediately he was eaten of worms. God himself wanted to defame Herod because he also did not give God the glory but took it to himself. 

Anytime somebody praises you for something instead of saying "thank you", learn to say "glory be to God Almighty". Don't accept glory for yourself under any circumstances at all. When you do that God eyes you and if care is not taken an angel will embarrass you one day. Anytime you have too much respect with men, God demotes your rank in heaven. Two things that are for God and not for man, infact they are three; respect, fear and trust. Don't confuse respect with obedience. You must obey your seniors and be humble to them but respect solely belongs to God. If you respect men too much you will not respect God and you will do what man says instead of what God says. That is why the Bible says God himself is no respecter of persons. Whether you are rich, poor, handsome, ugly etc God doesn't respect you. 

God loves us, gives us grace and mercy but he doesn't respect us otherwise we will be controlling God. Learn to love people, obey if you have to, humble yourself if you have to but the respect belongs to God. In today's world if a person doesn't follow your orders or do what you want them to do, you say this person doesn't respect. It's wrong it's rather this person is disobedient because respect is something we must give to God. So at times when I see people demand so much respect for themselves I laugh at them in my head. Respect is given not taken. There are somethings given to men which doesn't belong to men. Example is fear, God never asked men to fear another man but at times we do fear some men, the same with respect. Respect is for God and not for man.

 Giving respect to God is a sign of humility. If you respect God, there are certain things you will not do if you know he is watching you. You must also honour your father and mother that you days may be long on earth, the only commandment with a promise of long life. Four things according to the Bible that gives long life; honouring/obeying your parents, wisdom, righteousness and the fear of the Lord.

To honour is to accord value to a person, to give to a person, to regard a person, to reverence the person, to submit to the person, to be obedient to the person and to recognise the person. That is honour, all these things you must do to your parents and anyone older than you or is your parent's age mate. This is the will of God. Don't promote yourself and don't demand too much respect for yourself, let people willingly give it to you, don't accept it as yours but give it to God because all respect belongs to God. There are some people they want everybody to be subjected to them, to listen to them, to obey them etc because they consider their position, money and achievements in life. Please this your way doesn't please God, you are trying to be God and if you don't repent he will one day prove to you that you are human. 

Some people walk carrying an invisible placard written on it, "Respect me by force, obey me by force, humble yourself to me by force, listen to me by force because I am this, I am that, I have this, I have that" etc. Oh man! Where at all are you taking life to? On the day of your burial when your two hands lie on your chest coming from the icy refrigerator, come and ask people to forcefully be subjected to you. Please let's learn humility. Even the act of thinking someone must even obey you or respect you itself is pride before God. Let's have a very meek and humble heart and love all humans and treat each other with love and respect. And if you are getting the respect and admiration, give the glory to God, don't keep it to yourself. Even as a woman someone tells you, "oh sister you are beautiful", the correct is response is "glory be to God" not "thank you" or "my parents told me so" or "everybody says so". The day you get an accident and they patch your face or two of your front teeth falls off, we shall see who you will now give the glory to?

As for me, I am so crude that I don't even want respect and special treatment at all from anybody. If you show me too much respect I don't like it. I prefer to be treated normal like everyone else, that is me. So personally whether a person respects me or not I don't care and it is some of us too that people force to give us respect but I always reject it. I have never seen respect add anything to a person's life but I have seen it destroy many people.I rather prefer to be known as normal than to be respected because I don't want it to get into my head to provoke the spirit of God to jealousy on my life because everything I am he made me. 

We are all created differently and for me this is how I want to be seen and treated. It is God himself will honour and glorify you when your ways pleases him not man. Infact when a person shows me too much respect and begin to treat me so much in a certain special way, I begin to suspect the person. I don't succumb to the respect and approval of men but that of God. Jesus too was the same, anytime people praised him and wanted to make him a king he will always dodge them. That should be the true nature of the children of God. Don't behave like a woman putting yourself out there to be noticed by everyone and demanding that people accord you certain respect and special treatment. It's demonic and your ways doesn't please God. True humility comes from the heart so learn to be humble at heart.

I don't also know why some people like to be revered so much? It's pride and the Bible says pride goes before a fall. No proud person will succeed in life. It's not a curse, it's biblical. Sometimes when you see a person fall from grace, check if there was an element of pride. 

Attention seeking is also pride. You want everyone to focus their attention on only you. It's pride before God. Women are especially guilty of this sin and some men too when they get to a place they want everybody to notice them. Oh thou man made of clay that will return to clay, why raise your shoulders as if you will be on this earth forever? Man you will not be on this earth forever. Whatever you have will pass away. Your handsomeness, cars, houses, businesses, private jets, clothes, connections etc. 

Everything you have will pass away but humble yourself to the word of God and to God and have a resting place for your soul when you die. Where are you rushing to? And why do you seek the approval of men? Let God approve you. The approval of God is called favour. When God approves you, no man can reject you because our hearts are in his hand and he controls people to accept or reject you. 

When you want to do something, meet someone or go somewhere tomorrow, say "God willing tomorrow, I will do this and that, I will go here". Don't just say tomorrow I will do this and that I will go here. When you do that you have undermined God the one that controls tomorrow and if care is not taken you will not even see tomorrow. The Bible tells a story of a rich man who planned what to do with his wealth and food harvest, he excluded God in his plans but said he will build plenty silos to store his food, he will then drink and make merry. God told him, "you foolish man, today I am taking your soul away from you and see if you will live to see tomorrow to enjoy all you have laboured for and plan to do?". 

Never plan your life without God. It's a sign of rejecting God. When you plan without God your plan will fail. Book of Proverbs says, acknowledge God in all your ways and he will direct your path. It is God that will direct you to make your plan a success. Because God doesn't talk alot or make noise like Satan even on our streets, some of us have taken God for granted and we think we can make life work on our own. It's not possible for your life to work without God. 

Some people too the devil keeps like fowls or general livestock. Satan can allow you to prosper and have all the riches of the world but he sees you as a Christmas fowl or goat. He knows you will be sacrificed eventually. Oh let's leave him to enjoy himself small, so so and so date we will collect his soul from him. That is why it is not good to envy others. When you keep fowls and you are feeding them with good food everyday, what is your mindset about them? Don't you intend to kill them during Christmas? Yes! That is how the devil sees majority of people these days so forsake the world and follow after God.

Have you been to the funeral of dead person who was rich and you admired so much but you are now facing his lifeless body in a coffin before? You see how it is, if God ask you if you want to be like them now? You would say a big NO. Yes, that is how you must see people and things around you. If you don't want to be like a rich man when he is dead then don't also want to be like him when he is alive. This is how you must develop your mentality. See everything and everyone walking as dead and you will not envy or jealous anybody.
