COVID-19 SERIES : MAKE HAY WHILES THE SUN SHINES

So those of you who are not married, when do you think your wedding will come on in this Covid-19 pandemic? When we say marry you say No, I am waiting for the right man and woman at the right time yet you have slept with people more than the hairs of your head. In this lockdown how will you ever get to meet your spouse, his or her family? Who will shake your hands and which road will you use to go to her/his family house? Which market are you going to buy the marriage list and which street will you use to go to that market? Who will accompany you to your traditional wedding and which church are you going to do your wedding?

Anyway, we have private funerals of not more than 25 people so I guess you can seize this opportunity to say because of covid-19 you invited just some few people and carry on with your wedding if it's not a criminal offense prosecutable under law, a breach of executive order in the face of ban on social gathering except for private funerals of not more than 25 people. Even with that you must social distance. Infact which pastor will come and bless your marriage for you and after Covid-19 is over who knows if you or your suitor will still be alive? I am not being a pessimist but from the way I see things, this is a global crisis and if God does not intervene it's not going to be anytime soon before we return to our normal lives (though I wish otherwise).

If not for anything at all Covid-19 has taught us that indeed the adage, "procrastination is a thief of time" is true. So many people had so many plans they should have executed but keep on postponing. If there is any good lesson to pick from this pandemic, the fact that you must make hay whiles the sun shines. Time and time waits for no man. Sorry if I unreasonably dwelt on only marriage as a case study. Certainly I couldn't use every example of this life but I must say this analogy cuts through every facet of life and teaches us a big lesson. My guess is everyone reading this piece is of a marriageable age, either married or yet to be married so I think I chose a good theme to carry my message accross.
